This website is hosted by STRATO AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Strasse 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When you visit the website, the server automatically stores information in log files: IP address, date and time of access, page visited, referrer URL, browser and operating system. This data is technically necessary to provide the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement is in place with the host. The log files are deleted automatically after a short time.
If you contact us by email, we use your details (e.g. name, email address and your message) solely to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We delete the data as soon as it is no longer needed for this purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply.
You cannot book directly on this website. The “Book on Airbnb” buttons lead to our listing on Airbnb and open in a separate window. Booking and payment data is only processed there. Airbnb is responsible for this; for guests resident outside the USA and China, this is Airbnb Ireland UC, 8 Hanover Quay, Dublin 2, Ireland. Airbnb's privacy policy applies: airbnb.ch/help/article/2855. After a booking, Airbnb provides us with the details needed for your stay (e.g. name, travel dates, number of guests), which we use only to carry out your stay.
On your first visit, a notice asks whether you consent to the use of Google Analytics. Without your consent, no analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics is not loaded. We store your decision for 12 months in your browser's local storage (entry “cc_consent”). This entry is technically necessary so that we can respect your choice. You can change your decision or withdraw your consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. You can also view, delete or block cookies in your browser settings.
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website and to improve it. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies and records, among other things, pages visited, time spent, approximate origin (country/city), device type and browser. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. Data may be transferred to servers of Google LLC in the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google Analytics is only loaded after you click “Accept” in the notice. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time via “Cookie settings”. More information: policies.google.com/privacy.
We use the Jetpack plugin by Automattic Inc., 60 29th Street #343, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA, for simple visitor statistics and faster delivery of files. Technical data such as your IP address is transmitted to Automattic's servers. The statistics are only evaluated in aggregate form. Automattic is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a stable and fast website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). More information: automattic.com/privacy.
To display our typeface, we use Google Fonts from Google Ireland Limited. When you open a page, your browser loads the font from Google's servers, which transmits your IP address to Google. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a consistent presentation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
On the “Location” page you can display a Google Maps map (Google Ireland Limited). The map is only loaded when you click “Load map”. Only then is data such as your IP address transmitted to Google, possibly also to the USA. The legal basis is your consent given by clicking (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Links to Google Maps open the map directly on Google.
You have the right to access the data stored about you, as well as the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future. Simply contact us by email.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example in Switzerland with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence in the EU.
For security reasons, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the padlock symbol and “https://” in your browser's address bar.
We update this privacy policy when the website or legal requirements change. The version published here applies.
